A recent study by Dr. Leigh Turner at the University of Minnesota and Dr. Paul Knoepfler at the University of California at Davis found that 570 U.S. clinics are marketing unproven stem-cell procedures.

When removing a tumour some stem cells can be left behind, and that is why many people’s cancer returns. This is why cancer patients will have to have regular check-ups; to ensure they are still cancer free. If we are able to destroy the source of the tumour entirely (the stem cells) the chances of it coming back will be greatly reduced.
